Manually Add Users

Manually Add Users

OVERVIEW

Only users with the 'Site admin' role are able to add users and assign roles if needed.

Use Case Example:

As a training manager, you are responsible for onboarding new employees to your organization, in part, you are responsible for adding users to the system and providing them with access to essential training materials.

With Pluto LMS you can manually create user accounts, including their username, password, first name, last name, and email address. You also have the flexibility to assign different roles to each user based on their responsibilities and permissions required.

STEP 1: ADD USER MANUALLY

Step 1.1: Click on "Site admin", followed by "User Management", and then "Create single user."

Step 1.2: Fill in the user information. The required fields (marked with) are:

Username: Best practice is to use the email address as this must be unique.
Password: Either let the system "Generate password and notify user" or decide on a "New password."
First Name: -
Last Name: -
Email Address: -

Then click on "Create user."

STEP 2: ASSIGN ROLE (IF REQUIRED)

By default, any new user on your LMS does not have editing rights and is just a "member". If you are adding a  team member who you would like to edit your site settings or add course content, be sure to assign the correct role to their profile.

STEP 3: SHARE DETAILS

A. If you selected for the system to automatically "Generate password and notify user", an email containing their account details will be sent to the user. Be sure that your no-reply email address is configured in "Outgoing mail configuration" to ensure that this notification does not end up in the user's junk mail/spam.

B. If you manually created a "New password", be sure to share these details with the user.

For example:

Password: 1234ABCD
