Create an Assignment

OVERVIEW

Assignments allow you to collect and evaluate learners' work. Learners can submit their work for grading in the form of either text typed online or uploaded files.
USE CASE EXAMPLE:

Assignments within a Learning Management System (LMS) used for internal staff training are a fundamental component for assessing employees' understanding of training materials and their ability to apply that knowledge to real-world tasks. Here's a use case example of how assignments can be effectively used in such a system:

Use Case: Compliance Training Assessment

Scenario:
A multinational corporation is required to ensure that all its employees are well-versed in the company's compliance policies and procedures. The HR department utilizes an LMS to deliver and manage compliance training modules.

ADD AN ASSIGNMENT ACTIVITY TO YOUR COURSE

Step 1: In the relevant course, click on "Edit course material."

Step 2: Under the relevant module, click on "Add course content."

Step 3: Click on the "Assignment" activity.

Step 4: Give your assignment (1) a name and (2) enter a description (this will provide learners with instructions for the assignment).

Step 5: Optionally, you can (1) upload additional files that you would like to provide your learners with, e.g. an assignment template. You can also (2) set submission dates.

Step 6: Set your assignment submission type/s and the related submission settings.

Additionally, you can define other optional settings of your assignment activity (you can always edit this later).

Once you're happy, click on "Save and return to course" to return to your course page or "Save and display" to see your assignment activity.
